ENHYPEN is a six-member boy group consisting of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki. The group was formed through Mnet's global idol survival show 'I-LAND' in 2020 and debuted that same year on November 30 under BELIFT LAB, a label under HYBE LABELS. The team name "ENHYPEN" is meant to evoke a hyphen — the way a hyphen connects words, the members, coming from different backgrounds, are "connected" to "discover" and "grow" together. Their fandom is called ENGENE.

Growth Story

ENHYPEN is considered one of the K-pop groups with the steepest rise in the industry throughout 2025. They swept three Daesang (Grand Prize) trophies at major award shows, including the Fans' Choice of the Year at the MAMA Awards, and set records with their second full-length album 'ROMANCE : UNTOLD,' which became the group's first-ever triple million-seller, and their sixth mini album 'DESIRE : UNLEASH,' which marked their third double million-seller. Considering that only three K-pop acts achieved a first-week double million-seller last year, this is a notable feat.

Their performance capabilities also translated into buzz. In April of last year (2025), they performed a 13-song set at Coachella, the largest music festival in the U.S., ranking fifth among all performing artists in mentions on X (formerly Twitter). Their largest-ever world tour, 'WALK THE LINE,' drew about 676,000 attendees and landed at No. 4 on Billboard Boxscore's "10 Most Successful K-pop Tours of 2025." This year (2026), in January, they made a comeback with their seventh mini album 'THE SIN : VANISH,' selling more than 1.65 million copies on the very first day and reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time.

The Issue

The smooth run hit a snag this past March. Member Heeseung left the group as of March 10, restructuring ENHYPEN from a seven-member lineup to six. As it was the group's first-ever member departure, concerns naturally followed about the direction of future activities.

Last month (late June), agency BELIFT LAB carried out a brand renewal. The brand renewal film, released through HYBE LABELS' official channel, conveyed a message of expanding the group's core identity of "connection" into "multidimensional bonds," moving from a point to lines, planes, and finally three-dimensional space. It's widely interpreted as an attempt to redefine the team's identity following the shift to a six-member lineup.

Following that, the group is set to return with their eighth mini album 'THE SIN : BLISS' on the 21st of next month — about seven months after their previous release, 'THE SIN : VANISH' (released January 16). It will be their first album since restructuring to six members, and the second chapter in the 'THE SIN' series.

What Lies Ahead

ENHYPEN's next challenge is whether they can maintain their existing momentum even after losing a member. Whether 'THE SIN : BLISS' — their first full comeback since transitioning to six members — can match the first-week sales and global chart performance of their previous albums will serve as an initial test.

In the longer term, the key question is how concretely the brand renewal translates into actual activities and content. For agency BELIFT LAB and HYBE LABELS, ENHYPEN has established itself as one of HYBE's next-generation global top-tier groups — making it critical for the company to prove, through this lineup change, that the team's sustainability holds, as this will be directly tied to future performance.
