South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has intervened in EcoPro BM's planned 1.2 trillion won (approximately $870m) rights issue, demanding that the company resubmit a corrected securities registration statement. The move was disclosed in a regulatory filing on 15th July 2026.
The FSS determined that the original registration statement contained deficiencies, and the share issuance process is effectively suspended until a revised filing is accepted by the regulator.
EcoPro BM, a leading producer of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, has been pursuing the large-scale capital raise to expand its production capacity and strengthen its balance sheet. The 1.2 trillion won figure represents one of the largest rights issues ever attempted by a battery-materials company listed in South Korea.
The final timetable for the share sale will depend on whether the FSS accepts the amended filing once it is submitted. EcoPro BM has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
