LG Energy Solution, the battery arm of South Korean conglomerate LG, unveiled an integrated energy solution targeting AI data centres on 22 May at ees Europe, the continent's largest dedicated battery and energy-storage exhibition, held in Munich, Germany.
The system on display combines power-stability and energy-efficiency functions into a single battery-based platform, designed to meet the surging electricity demands that accompany the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure. Data centres running large-scale AI workloads require exceptionally reliable and uninterrupted power supplies, creating a growing market for advanced energy-storage systems (ESS).
The Munich showcase marks LG Energy Solution's formal push to expand its ESS business within the global data-centre sector, as the company seeks to diversify beyond its core electric-vehicle battery business.
